We recently added two words to our mission:
To provide a more human way to engage with the news…and life.
We added the words “and life” because ultimately we want to engage with more of life, not just the news of the day.
One thing we noticed was how much people loved The News Memo Movie List. Clearly, the Movie List has nothing to do with the news, but it fostered interesting conversations with our friends about life more broadly.
We live in a fascinating time of history. We walk around with addictive supercomputers in our pockets. Ideologies fill our environment with ideas of what will make us happy. Some say total independence and choice, others say a strict religious protocol.
Is technology actually making us depressed, or is that theory overblown? Why are people having fewer kids while others double their family size? Is AI the final blow to human creativity, or is it the launching pad to incredible things?
We want to start writing about these questions and discussing them with you.
