China spy balloon: The U.S. government is tracking a balloon that was spotted flying over areas in the U.S. that house sensitive intelligence information. The balloon, which officials are confident belongs to China, flew over Alaska's Aleutian Islands and Canada before being spotted in Montana. A source from the defense department that wished to remain anonymous told the BBC the U.S. had fighter jets prepared to take the balloon down, but did not due to concerns of dangerous debris falling on civilians. (video of balloon). U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has postponed his trip this week to China since the balloon sighting. China said it was a weather balloon that was blown off course and not gathering intelligence information.
