Taliban: The Taliban conducted its first known public execution this week since the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan in August. A man convicted of murder was publicly executed by the father of the victim, who shot him multiple times. According to a Taliban spokesperson, dozens of Taliban members and hundreds of citizens attended the execution, which reportedly took place at a sports stadium. The news comes shortly after the supreme leader ordered judges to enforce Sharia Law. Punishments can include public executions, stoning, and public amputations.
