Alex Jones will be required to pay $965M to the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, which took the lives of 26 people in 2012. Jones, a popular talk show host who often delves into conspiracy theories, once claimed that the shooting was a hoax and that it was set up by the media in an effort to ban guns. After the ruling, Jones said, “today is a very, very, very dark day for freedom of speech.”
