Life expectancy 📉: The average life expectancy in the U.S. fell in 2021 for the second consecutive year, reaching the lowest level since 1996. The average life expectancy dropped to 76.1 years at the end of 2021, down from 79 in 2019. The largest contributors to the decline, according to the CDC, were deaths from Covid-19 and drug overdoses.
