$1B lottery: The Mega Millions Powerball lottery has soared over $1.1B. No one has pulled the winning combination of numbers since April 15, which has caused the jackpot to explode in size. It marks just the third time in Mega Millions’ 20-year history the jackpot has surpassed $1B. The all-time record was set in 2018 at $1.54B from a winner in South Carolina. The next drawing will take place tonight (7/29) at 11PM ET. The odds of winning the Mega Millions Powerball is 1 in 302.5 million and is played in 45 states across the U.S. (how to play)
More: The $1.1B prize is only available to winners that select the 30-year annuity payment plan ($36M per year). If the winner elects to receive the prize all in cash up front, which most do, the prize is $650M.
