Supreme Court: In a 6-3 decision on Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), deciding it had overstepped its regulatory authority to curb carbon emissions which it was granted under the “Clean Air Act.” The Clean Air Act was passed by Congress during the Obama administration. Chief Justice John Roberts, writing the majority opinion, said, “A decision of such magnitude and consequence rests with Congress itself, or an agency acting pursuant to a clear delegation from that representative body.”

More: The lawsuit was brought forward by West Virginia, representing 18 other Republican-leaning states and various coal companies.
