Taliban keeps girls schools closed: Education has been closed to women 7th grade and up since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August, 2021. The Taliban had promised to resume girls' education on March 23, but that has not happened. The Minister of Education released a statement saying there is a delay in order to design uniforms that are in accordance with Sharia law.
