Covid lockdown protests: As omicron spreads, several countries are reinstating lockdown measures. Large scale protests have been occurring this week in the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy, among others. Thousands of protestors who gathered on Sunday in Amsterdam were met with police batons, shields, and other dispersion methods, such as canines. The Netherlands entered a lockdown on December 19 that will go through January 14. Restaurants, gyms, and all non-essential stores have been closed.
