Record inflation: Inflation in the month of October hit a 30-year high, rising 6.2% from a year ago. The price of used vehicles continues to rise at record rates, increasing more than 25% from a year ago. Food prices were up between 5-6%, and the price of energy, which includes gasoline and electricity, was up on average 30%.

Booster shots: On Tuesday, Pfizer requested FDA approval of its booster shot for all U.S. adults, ages 18 and older. Currently, the extra jab is reserved for those 65 and older, anyone exposed to the coronavirus often, and those with underlying health conditions. In September, the FDA voted against approving the booster shots for all U.S. adults, citing the effectiveness of the normal covid vaccines against severe cases. Pfizer is hoping for approval before the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend, starting November 25.
