Breaking this morning:  Clinical trial results for an antiviral pill for those with the coronavirus is said to be 89% effective during high risk cases. The pill was developed by Pfizer. (read more).

Minneapolis police: In local elections on Tuesday, Minneapolis residents rejected a charter to replace the Minneapolis Police Department with a Department of Public Safety. The measure, which failed 56% to 44%, would have removed the requirement to staff 1.7 officers per 1,000 residents in the City of Minneapolis. Additionally, it would have allowed the mayor and city council to replace the police chief with a new commissioner. The proposal was drafted by the city council following calls to defund the police after the death of George Floyd in May 2020.
