Texas abortion law: A U.S. judge halted the law that bans abortion in Texas after a fetal heartbeat is noticed (generally around 6 weeks of pregnancy). In his 113 page opinion, district Judge Robert Pitman said, "women have been unlawfully prevented from exercising control over their lives in ways that are protected by the Constitution.” The ruling prevents the abortion law from being enforced, and the state of Texas immediately said they intend to appeal the ruling. White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, said, "The fight has only just begun, both in Texas and in many states across this country where women's rights are currently under attack.”
