Vaccine mandate: President Biden announced a plan on Thursday that would mandate vaccinations for all private U.S. employers with more than 100 employees (covering ~80M private sector workers). Any company that violates the mandate would face a $14,000 fine for each violation. In his speech announcing the plan, Biden said, “My message to unvaccinated Americans is this, what more is there to wait for? What more do you need to see?... We’ve been patient. But our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us.” (video) The plan is expected to be challenged on several legal fronts.
Extra: Montana banned employers from mandating vaccines and some other Republican states are pursuing similar legislation.
