Arkansas bans transgender treatment for minors: Arkansas’s legislature overruled the governor’s veto of a bill that bans sex reassigment surgery for minors. The lawl makes it illegal for doctors to provide gender reassignment surgery and gender hormone treatment to children under the age of 18. The Republican legislature argues the treatments are harming children and have long-term implications. Arkansas is the first state in the U.S. to pass such a law.
