The Derek Chauvin trial got more complicated this week after the City of Minneapolis agreed to a $27M settlement with the family of Georgy Floyd. Judge Peter Cahill dismissed two selected jurors after finding the settlement news influenced their views on the case. Chauvin’s defense attorney, Eric Nelson, has requested a motion to delay the trial and move it to a new location due the high-profile nature of the case. Judge Cahill will decide today (Friday, Mar. 19) on whether the motions will be accepted. (Livestream)

Juror Count: All 12 jurors have now been selected, but two alternatives are still needed. Six of the selected jurors are white, four are black, and two are multiracial.
