Capitol riot arrests: U.S. law enforcement agencies continue to make arrests and file criminal charges related to last week’s Capitol riots. Michael Sherwin, the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, said there’ll likely be “hundreds of criminal cases” as part of an investigation that will take months. Charges range from trespassing and theft, to assault, murder, and possibly sedition (inciting rebellion to overthrow the government). Sedition is a felony offense punishable up to 20 years in prison.
