Clash on India-China Border: A clash in the Himalayan Mountains (in a historically disputed border territory between India and China) on Monday night left at least 20 Indian soldiers dead (China has not reported its casualty figures). Due to an agreement that bans the use of firearms in the area to try and prevent deadly clashes, the skirmish consisted of soldiers using their fists, clubs, rocks, and batons. Both countries have blamed the other side for initiating the violence. Relations between India and China have grown increasingly tense in recent years as China’s power and influence continue to grow.
