Unemployment: Lifting the eight week total to 36.5 million, almost 3 million more Americans filed for unemployment last week. Over the last two months, just below 25% of working Americans have lost their jobs. The impact has been greatest on lower-income Americans. A Federal Reserve survey found that some 39% of individuals in households earning $40,000 or less lost jobs, compared to just 13% for individuals in households earning above $100,000.
Online Fall 2020: California State University system, which comprises 23 campuses and some 480,000 students (largest in the U.S.), announced on Tuesday that its campuses will remain closed for the fall semester and will conduct its classes almost exclusively online.
